Following are the steps for installing java 6 update 4 (jdk & jre) in windows 7 32 bit:
1. Download jdk-6u4-windows-i586-p.exe from internet.
2. Double click on (jdk-6u4-windows-i586-p)
3. A windows will appear with Java (TM) SE Development Kit 6 update 4
4. Click on the Accept button
5. In next screen change the path C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_04\ to C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_04\
6. Click on the next button
7. ...
8. Change the path for Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment.
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_04\ to C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_04\
9. Click Ok
10. Click on Next button
11. Click on the finish.
12. Now you will able to see java installed in your computer. c:\java\jdk1.6.0_04
and c:java\jre1.6.0_04.
13. Open the command prompt and type the java and enter.
